Erica Maharg, Partner

Ms. Maharg has practiced for over ten years as an environmental and land use attorney, representing nonprofit organizations, tribes, and federal, state, and local government agencies. Prior to joining ATA, Ms. Maharg served as the managing attorney at San Francisco Baykeeper, overseeing the organization’s legal and advocacy work to defend San Francisco Bay, and resolving dozens of high-impact cases under the Clean Water Act and other federal and state statutes. Previously, Ms. Maharg was a legal fellow at Shute, Mihaly & Weinberger, representing environmental and community groups and government agencies in environmental and land use matters. She started her legal career at the Environmental Protection Agency, Region IX, prosecuting cases under several federal environmental statutes, including the Safe Drinking Water Act; Resource Conservation and Recovery Act; and the Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation, and Liability Act. Ms. Maharg received her J.D. with a certificate in Environmental and Natural Resources Law from Lewis & Clark Law School, summa cum laude.
